I can’t believe the fact about hot springs! I grew up in a small island with nine volcanoes in it. That means, my home place had hot springs but there’s nothing wrong from it, no negative effects and such no big deal!

What is the big deal about these hot springs? They are not really all that. I’ve had the chance to visit many hot springs in different states, and other countries. No big deal here…. better go to Mexico, Japan or Guatemala; they have nice hot springs, cheap, big, and the owners are not obsessed to keep them as a secret.

I’ve lived in Ojai for 25 years and this place is now destroyed because of non-locals abusing it. I can’t go here anymore because it’s always packed with obnoxious kids and it’s just plain filthy. It’s ruined.

The last few times I’ve gone to the hot springs and swimming holes, I’ve come back up with bags of trash, broken glass, even used baby diapers.

DO NOT COME HERE. STOP ASKING FOR DIRECTIONS. WE DON’T WANT YOU HERE.

And if you somehow decide it’s ok to trespass, DON’T LEAVE YOUR FUCKING TRASH.

Why there are selfish people who would restrict such natural, amazing springs a secret from many others who enjoy and love nature is beyond me. I found it all right. It was nice and peaceful. Much water came from the river so the water wasn’t hot enough. People I met at the hot springs were very nice!!

I went there yesterday. SuperBowl Sunday, everyone said that it is the only weekend day uncrowded. The tubs are not refillable at will. Can’t say I recommend it. Full of nudies, and only one pool is hot enough, the rest are like a swimming pool not a hot tub. The owners call the police all the time because partiers come and make noise and the police kick them out. Humiliating enough? I am in search of natural springs, they are all over the place and people can find their own safe spot, if you get to know the woods and how these springs generate themselves all over the mountains near creeks and oil drilling seems to connect to the minerals in CA. People get bit taking baths also, I saw a lot of red bites. It’s not what it’s cracked up to be here. Nice enough but I’ve seen much better without rich holier than thou (God) attitudes for owners of the land. It may be far more comfortable to pay $50.00 for a day soak someplace set up for comfort and legal.

near Bakersfield the town of Havilah has miracle hot springs. you go about a quarter mile up and down to the Kern River, along it are the tubs where an old hotel now burned down, used to bathe people. The tubs are rock built and working fine and maintained by the parks

This is private property. One of the Spanish men in the tub is seriously looking for the idiot who filmed him without permission. I police the tube at least one a day. The new owners do not want anyone there. They are NOT cool so it is best to stay out. If you go there, I may ticket you. Keep it clean, NO glass! Take this You tube site down!

I went to this hot springs about 3 months ago, had a great time. It was me and three other girls, the driver and I had never been there before but one of the girls directed us there. It was a pretty busy night lots of people and all the “tubs” were full. We managed to get a smaller tub for the three of us to relax. It was vary nice! Unfortunately for one of the other parties there the cops had to be called because someone broke into their car. Id like to go back again some time but I don’t remember how to get there. May I please have the directions ?

i am trying to find hot springs in ojai. i am unclear if matilija and wheeler are still an option for day use and if vickers hs is the same as matillija. i was injured with chemicals and really wish to get well. where are the springs that dont cost a fortune or require a 10 mile hike for someone who cant do that at this time?

The hot springs are relaxing. If you go there you are sure to come across some that enjoy them nude. So be prepared if traveling with young ones. Week days are the best and most relaxing time to visit. Just be sure to leave no trace when visiting that goes for animal waste as well. Love it and leave it cleaner than you find it.
