If you don’t practice, and understand, the simple power of a random act of kindness, then you are setting limits on your life. Those limits keep you from living a life filled with the fun and joy that comes from simply being nice.

You hear stories all the time of everyday people transforming into heroes just by acting from their hearts under moments of duress. When pushed into a dark corner of life, they dug deep inside to simply do what they had to do in that moment.

Being a hero doesn’t require big, bold acts, though.

You don’t have to wait for someone to “turn off the lights” for you to shine – you can achieve greatness through giving to others, through just one random act of kindness at a time.

All that prevents you from giving more, is the illusion that your resources are limited.

Stop doubting the greatness in YOU.

If you don’t know the true value of giving a kind word, a simple thank-you, or just really listening when you ask someone how their day is, then you are dismissing the true value of what you have to give, sadly tarnishing the heart of gold given to you at birth.

Our desire to do things BIG and make a MASSIVE impact on the world saves lives EVERYDAY.

But you don’t have to save Africa, jump in front of bullets, or build homes in Haiti to put your mark on the world.

Don’t wait to be a hero, when all it takes to touch someone’s soul is to say thank you, you’re welcome, hold a door, help someone with their groceries, or just be patient with the checkout person when all you want to do is scream.

The little things, as we like to call them, can have a compound effect in peoples’ lives. Just as bad events can seem to have a domino effect, so can good things – so why not jump start some goodness in someone’s life?

Change one person’s day for the better, pay it forward and you can change the world.

What is an exercise ball chair?

Although many people claim that once you have back pain you have it forever, the exercise ball chair is an alternative therapy product that works to minimize or completely relieve and cure you of your back pain by strengthening the muscles in your back and improving posture.  Moreover, it does so while you are sitting.  Also known as the yoga ball chair and stability ball chair, the exercise ball chair provides a good alternative to both the conventional home or office chair.

The four most popular manufacturers of the chair are Gaiam, Health Mark, Isokinetics, and FitBall.

Exercise ball chair basics

The chair is a no-brainer with easy assembly (with or without following the directions). It’s a yoga ball that sits tightly within a plastic chair base. Some models do come with a backing, but it’s not one that you want to lean on.  As a result, your body is forced to sit up straight.  Because the body when seated is continuously making small adjustments to remain balanced, without effort and unknowingly a person is exercising a large group of muscles.  Strengthening the body’s core muscle group through a process called “active sitting,” a person helps to improve their posture, which leads to increased balance and better protection against back injuries. Moreover, the yoga ball can be taken out of the chair’s base and can be used to perform ab crunches, back extensions, as well as other toning exercises.

With a conventional home or office chair, people hunch over and as a result have poor posture. Practiced continually, these individuals can develop bad sitting habits. However, the alternative therapy benefits offered to individuals who use an exercise ball chair give the body the opportunity to find its own optimal sitting position.  It’s a healing method that allows one’s body to decide the direction.

While the chair does seem simple enough, it is important to remember to ease into using it.  In other words, try sitting on the chair for short periods of time (a couple of hours) and gradually work your way up to sitting on the chair for longer periods of time (the whole day). In time, your body will become accustomed to the constant workout.

A few tips before purchasing your exercise ball chair:

Tip #1 – When first inflating the ball, it’s better to use a pump with more pressure than the one normally included (also check to make sure a pump comes with the chair).

Tip #2 – If the chair you purchase comes with locking wheels, consider putting them on the back.  By putting these two wheels at the back, you prevent yourself from inadvertently locking them with your feet.

Tip #3 – Familiarize yourself with how to utilize the yoga ball to exercise different parts of your body when its not in the chair casing. Practice doing leg exercises, ab exercises as well as balance and stretching exercises.

And as always, it is advised for anyone looking to put extra strain on the body (including using a yoga ball as a chair) to first consult a health care practitioner.

The natural Ojai hot springs (even some secret sulphur hot springs and mineral hot springs), off the beaten path (near the lake), down a trail, and over a bunch of rocks, are some of Ojai’s best-kept secrets.  The pools mix with the river so there’s always a constant flow of fresh clean water.  Temperature is normally a comfortable 100-105 degrees and provides a great space for meditating as well as offering an alternative therapy cure for a variety of ailments.

What natural elements are found at sulphur hot springs

Because the heated water found in the hot springs hold a greater amount of dissolved solids, they often have a very high mineral content and can contain elements such as calcium, lithium, radium, and sulphur (especially in the sulphur hot springs).

With regard to sulphur, it is well known that this element is a naturally occurring mineral that is present close to hot springs and volcanic craters. What about the rotten egg smell?  The foul smell is caused by sulphur dioxide gas escaping into the air.

Valley of Dawn is a community of mediums about 50 kilometers from Brasília. THE 15-MINUTE MIRACLE

There’s  a lot of literature on the effectiveness of the rebounder on increasing overall health.  Its because the jumping motion helps to flush out the lymph system thereby supporting a person’s immune system (the lymph system clears toxins from the body).

Marc Lacasse has an awesome site HEALING DAILY that provides some great information on the benefits of the rebounder (click HERE). There is an enlightening article by Linda Brooks entitled REBOUNDING: A DEFENSE AGAINST CANCER.  In it she talks about how the rebounder helps to strengthen the immune system by assisting the production of white blood cells.

Dr. Shealy’s RelaxMate II device provides photostimulation at a safe and optimally relaxing frequency. Invented by Dr.  Norm Shealy, an accomplished neurosurgeon who  spent a lot of time researching pain management WITHOUT the use of narcotics. One of the things that came out of his research was the RelaxMate II as a way to treat both pain and depression.

The concept is pretty simple. Since the discovery of electroencephalogram in the 1920′s, scientists have known that the brain “follows” the frequency of flashing lights. And deep relaxation occurs at these lower frequency rates. The RelaxMate II provides this stimulation.

Norm Shealy Bio:

By the time he was 4 years old, C. Norman Shealy knew he wanted to be a physician. Just how far down the road that would take him, he could never have imagined at that time. Now, Dr. Shealy’s ideas have been the foundation for pain management therapies used worldwide, and the ”Shealy Program” is the mainstay of chronic pain treatment and management sought by patients and physicians alike.

Shortly after graduating from Duke Medical School, and beginning his career as an accomplished neurosurgeon, Dr. Shealy noted: ”The most common symptom in the world is pain, and yet nobody specializes in it.” At this early phase of his medical life, he decided to look into pain, what causes it, what we can do about it, and how it affects us as human beings.

He had not been investigating long before he recognized that the majority of long term fixes for chronic pain did not come from the established medical community, but from the ”folk domain.” Shealy began a series of research and experimental processes which included any ideas he could come across that claimed to be able to treat chronic pain in the long term without the use of narcotic medications. Consulting and researching with acupuncturists, mystics, faith healers, color therapists, folk healers, and other non-traditional therapists, and blending this new knowledge with his medical background, Dr. Shealy came to the conclusion that, while none of these methods was THE cure for chronic pain, almost all of them had developed a documented history of being able to successfully eliminate chronic pain in a good number of their attempts. It is at this juncture that he decided that ”It is the interaction of the four main fields of stress; the chemical, physical, electromagnetic, and emotional; that is the cause of all illness..not some, all.”

Now, Shealy embarked on a lifelong quest to find ways to manage successfully chronic pain. He opened his first pain management clinic in La Crosse, Wisconsin and developed a long series of successes in treating patients who had been otherwise untreatable. During this period, he devloped a device called the dorsal column stimulator, which uses small electrical currents to adjust the electromagnetic fields within the spinal column. The stimulator was so successful in treating previously untreatable chronic back pain that it has become a favored treatment for pain by physicians world-wide. The breakthroughs generated by the dorsal column stimulator contributed directly to the development and patenting of the TENS system of elecrical stimulation, a pain treatment regimen now in demand throughout the medical community.

The cost-effectiveness of Shealy’s treaments for back pain have led to a series of breakthroughs culminating in the discovery of urgently low levels of a chemical known as DHEA in almost all patients suffering chronic pain. Shealy’s further research developed a procedure that could effectively raise these DHEA levels in humans, without the use of medications, and his studies documented the cessation of this chronic pain in almost all subjects studied. His now patented system for curing chronic pain is used by traditional and non-traditional practitioners in nearly every specialty today.

While conducting all of this research, Dr. Shealy noted an abnormally large group of patients he was treating for chronic pain were also clinically depressed. Wondering if there was some connection between this chronic pain and their clinical depression, he sought and gained a Ph.D. in psychology. Further study did show, in fact, that with or without chronic pain, depressed persons also showed a low level of DHEA, and so he began a course of highly successful treatment of chronic clinical depression, again by naturally raising the patients DHEA levels without the use of drugs or medications. Current studies are underway by Shealy and many others to try to determine to what extent other illnesses may or may not be associated with abnormal DHEA levels, and may be treated non-pharmocologically, by adjusting those levels therapeutically. In 1999, Dr. Shealy retired from actively seeing patients, and spends his time now dedicated to further research and teaching. Having begun his career by alternative forms of treatment for patients, he now desires, through research, teaching, and writing, to blend what he and others have learned via his discoveries with the more traditonal approaches to medicine, allowing his approaches to benefit patients in all medical specialties.

From CNN: Phil Grosser was only 56 when he had a stroke – it left him unable to speak.

THE AYAHUASCA VISIONS OF PABLO AMARINGO

A Visionary Art workshop and Ayahuasca Retreat in the Amazon Rainforest

Pablo Amaringo is one of the world’s great visionary artists. He is renowned for his highly complex, colourful and intricate paintings inspired by his visions from when he was an Ayahuasca shaman. He trained as a curandero or healer in the Amazon, healing himself and others from the age of ten, but gave this up in 1977 to become a full-time painter and art teacher at the Usko-Ayar School of Amazonian Art which he founded. His book, Ayahuasca Visions: The Religious Iconography of a Peruvian Shaman, co-authored with Luis Eduardo Luna, brought his work and the rich mythology of the Amazon to a wide public in the West.

Zencast has a great meditation by Kornfield on opening the heart called Quiet the Mind Open the Heart.  Kornfield, the author of A PATH WITH HEART has a meditation center in Northern California called Spirit Rock.

John of God has a compound in a little town in Brazil called Abadiânia where thousands of people go to me healed.

João Teixeira de Faria, commonly referred to as John of God or João de Deus, is arguably the most powerful unconscious medium alive today and is possibly the best-known healer of the past 2000 years. A medium with extraordinary capabilities, for the past 43 years, João de Deus has been channeling over 30 spirit entities to help heal others. Thousands journey every week to visit him at his compound, the Casa de Dom Inácio de Loyola, located in Abadiânia, Brazil.

Treatment: In full trance, the Spirit Entity incorporates into João de Deus’ physical body during the session and performs the psychic surgery (no anesthesia). He treats all illnesses and diseases. John of God has no recall of the work performed through him, though entitles are sometimes identified by helpers. Principal among them is St. Ignatius Loyola, the Spirit Entity for whom Casa de Dom Ignacio is named. Others are Oswaldo Cruz, a famous doctor in Brazil who lived over 100 years ago (he is know for eradicating yellow fever and was a key figure in the founding of Brasilia), Dr. Augusto de Almeida, a surgeon and spiritual master, and Dr. Jose Valdivino, a surgeon.

Sessions: Large groups of people line up every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, when John of God performs the healings. White clothing is required to enable João de Deus to “scan” a patient. Sessions start at 8:00am in the main hall and begin with instruction and prayer conducted by one of the Casa volunteers.

A line forms of people who have been scheduled in an earlier visit to have surgery. They are escorted into the invisible surgery room adjacent to the hall. Under the guidance of one of the Casa volunteers, patients sit on long benches or rest on stretchers, with eyes closed, preparing themselves for the invisible surgery to follow.

John of God addresses the large crowd in the main hall. Prayers are spoken to incorporate the Spirit Entity. As João de Deus enters a full trance, his ordinary consciousness is suspended, and his body becomes the vessel for the Spirit Entities. His stature, gaze and speech are markedly different from before the trance.

Three adjoining “current” rooms connect to the surgery room. Sitting in silence, with eyes closed, when a patient is called, he or she presents John of God or one of his helpers with a piece of paper on which is written 3 healing requests translated into Portuguese.

Apart from the psychic surgeries performed, John of God also requests for volunteers to undergo a visible healing. While these visible healings are also done with João de Teixeira de Faria in a full trance and without anesthesia, the visible healings are meant to demonstrate the effectiveness of psychic healings. The visible demonstration may include an incision with a scalpel and subsequent stitching, or the use of forceps that are inserted into the nasal cavity.

Participants: Those who come to be healed by John of God include cancer patients, crippled children, and a variety of afflicted others. Many remain for extended periods of time.

Origin: John of God (aka João de Teixeira de Faria) was born in l942 in Goiás, Brazil. He was clairvoyant from an early age and able to predict many events and outcomes before they were reported in the press. In one incident, he was able to save both his and his mother’s life when he foresaw a devastating flash flood. He left school after the second grade.

When João de Teixeira de Faria was sixteen years old, his life changed dramatically. He had been traveling from town to town looking for work, without much success, and was exhausted and hungry. He stopped near a stream and had a vision of a beautiful woman who told him he was needed at the church in the nearby town of Campo Grande. He later realized that the woman was the Spirit of St. Rita of Cassia. He followed her direction, and as she had predicted, was welcomed at the church. That was all he remembered until hours later when he awakened and was told that King Solomon had incorporated in him and had healed many people. Although he believed it was his hunger and exhaustion that had made him faint, the many witnesses to the healing miracles left no doubt as to the healings he had performed.

An intense period of instruction and guidance followed over the next several weeks. He was directed to dedicate his life to healing others and never to accept payment for this work, a guideline that he follows to this day. A simple man, his work has at times has threatened the local religious and medical authorities. He has been arrested, beaten, and jailed on many occasions.

A bit more on David Elliott, The Reluctant Healer, and the work (Pranayama Yoga).

What:Pranayama is a Sanskrit word meaning “lengthening of the prana or breath”. The word is composed of two Sanskrit words, Prāna, life force, or vital energy, particularly, the breath, and “āyāma”, to lengthen or extend. It is often translated as control of the life force (prana). When used as a technical term in yoga, it is often translated more specifically as “breath control”.

Treatment: The heart of the pranayama yoga sessions is a breathing meditation that utilizes an ancient rhythmic breathing technique that very quickly shuts down the thinking part of the mind and gets a profound amount of energy moving through the body. Once this energy is accessed, it is used to clear deeply held blocks (of trauma) and helps to open a person to a place of great insight, profound creativity, and the experience of freedom. Sessions are an exhilarating and deeply rejuvenating journey. A progressive journey that goes deeper each time. According to David Elliott, “The moment you unblock, you feel it. The fear you’ve had trapped inside releases. Emotions unravel. You’re brought into the present moment, and can finally stop living in the time you originally experienced your fears…. It is the beginning of your empowerment. “

Ceremony: (Can either be done individually or in a group) The breathwork consists of both an intuitive component and actual guided breathing along with other modalities.

Sessions start with a conversation of where the client is at, which fosters intuitive answers and suggestions from the practitioner; the intuition comes through in the form of clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience and pure intuition.

It is not atypical for the intuition portion to give strong suggestions on changes, sometimes subtle, in a client’s life that can be very profound. This portion of the session may last 15 to 20 minutes.

The next 30 to 45 minutes are spent with the client lying comfortably on a massage table or on the ground and doing the actual breath work according to Pranayama Yoga. This involves breathing out of a client’s mouth for 10 to 15 minutes with two breaths in – one in the abdomen and the next in the chest – followed by an outbreath.

This has the capacity to relax and balance the brain, getting the client out of his or her head and into the body. Along with the breath usually some aromatherapy oils are used to balance any of the seven chakras, which are vortexes of energy located along the spine from the coccyx up to the crown of the head.

Each chakra involves different function of the body and it is very important to have them balanced as much as possible.

Sprays are also used to cleanse the body and the environment immediately around client’s body. Both oils and sprays are very soothing and tend to promote and facilitate further shifts in client’s consciousness to foster positive progress and development for the client.

Other modalities here can be used in the form of sounds or sacred artifacts, both from the client and the practitioner (i.e. the client may let out a shout from his or her mouth which again facilitates any shift in consciousness).

Sage may be burned to clear the air. Stones are usually held in the client’s hands for grounding purposes and further fostering the work of the breath.

In essence, the breathwork gets the client out of his or her head and gives the brain a rest to create a process for the client to reach for his or her highest potentials, by unclogging the system of unwanted energies.

The Practitioner: The practitioner is in charge of holding the space, encouraging the participant to focus on his or her breath, and to go deeper into his or her journey. The practitioner, in addition to employing the three-part breath process, aids a participant’s journey with other tools (sometimes sacred objects, such as animal feathers).

RED ROOTS OF NATIVE YOGA

David Elliott, a clairaudient and author of  THE RELUCTANT HEALER, is a phenomenal healer who for years has been working with people to help them unblock stuck energy from their bodies.  He coined the phrase, “Where awareness goes, energy flows.”

David’s views suggest that for healing to occur, control must be placed within an individual rather than directed or dictated by an external source.  He believes that healing comes through owing one’s own healing potential, facilitated by a conscious connection to Spirit

In a nutshell, David’s method uses a simple breath process, called pranayama yoga, in which oxygen stimulates the hypothalamus gland into releasing endorphins that stimulate the other glands, which he refers to as chakras.  Stuck energy is released in the body and feels like a tingling sensation.

In his book THE RELUCTANT HEALER David claims that each person is a healer capable not only of healing self, but also of healing others. Paramount to his theory is the belief that we are all healers on a journey which “demands a person to change, grow, and evolve…. Otherwise one’s Spirit, mind, and body may shrivel and die.”  David believes that people’s energy gets stuck on either a physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual level. The reason for stagnation is due to a person’s connection with past events, which creates pain, or the expectation of future events, which creates fear.  He maintains that the present is where a person is able to choose experiences; it’s in the moment where peace is found.

Apart from private and group healings, David also conducts training classes all over the world (4 different levels) – the classes are absolutely life changing (plus its a good way to learn to help others and learn to BREATHE).  Check out the class info HERE. He’s got some coming up in the LA area @ THE HUB.

Eric, Kip Roseman is a healer from Bend, OR.  An acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine practitioner… but that doesn’t really cover it. He works with stones and energy in a shamanic way that produces results that are incredible. I’m doing a story on him now for LA Yoga Magazine.  Every time I walk away from this guy I can’t believe how much he’s helped me.  Some of it is just the way he talks about things.  He has a great mind and understands a lot.  He’s also helped me a lot with my diet.

He treats people at his clinic; The Roseman Clinic in Bend for everything from “organic” disorders like stroke and endometriosis, to “functional” disorders like chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been treating all aspects of human health and illness for thousands of years.

Sam – did you see Bruce Gregory on ABC’s Good Morning America earlier this week?  He was interviewed for a story called WHEN MOM BECOMES THE BREADWINNER.  As you can gather by the title, the piece was about how more and more, its women who are “bringing home the bacon” in these trying times.  Bruce talks about how this can cause resentment, which ultimately can destroy a relationship:

“And the biggest problem with the resentment is not the resentment itself; it’s that people act it out. And they end up punishing each other and withdrawing, and more tension develops in the home and nobody benefits from that.”

Unfortunately Bruce didn’t get a lot of air time to weigh in on the situation but what he did say I found to be spot on.  As you know (you’ve met him), he’s a phenominal therapist who helps a lot of people (does a lot of corporate work as well) – been in the business of healing for over 25 years and sees clients individually and has three groups per week.  Plus he’s on staff at Ryokan College in West Los Angeles and heavily involved with the work of Milton Erickson and Ernie Rossi.

On a side note, he works a lot with his wife Birgitta Gregory doing couples work.  She wrote a book called GET YOUR RELATIONSHIPS RIGHT which I found very insightful.

Jay Winner article; NEW IDEAS ABOUT AN ANCIENT PRACTICE: NOVEL TECHNIQUES TO ENHANCE MINDFULNESS IN PSYCHOTHERAPY published in THE THERAPIST addresses the turning tide in current Western mental health practices. The piece articulates how many mental health professionals are beginning to teach and incorporate into their practices techniques to help a client “take a figurative step back from [his/her] beliefs and thoughts.”

Another forward move for Western mental health  is happening at UCLA.  In 2005, UCLA established the Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) to investigate, evaluate, and promote “Mindful Awareness.” According to MARC, Mindful Awareness is the “moment-by-moment process of actively and openly observing one’s physical, mental and emotional experiences.”  UCLA has had success not only in treating depression and anxiety, but also auto-immune disorders and cancer.  Give the article a read when you get a chance.

Brian Johnson created the “Environmentally and Spiritually Conscious” social networking site ZAADZ.COM (now GAIA.COM).  His new endeavor, PHILOSOPHER’S NOTES, is a sort of  CliffsNotes for self-development books.  Johnson has compiled over 1000 ideas from his favorite self-development titles and packaged them.  He calls it “Concentrated wisdom for your hero’s journey.”  The service takes the major titles and distills the big (meaning transformative and life changing) points down to a few pages and an audio track - he also has PODCASTS you can sign up for.  Good YouTube interview with Brian below.

Dr. Edward Tobinik is a doctor in Santa Monica, CA who has supposedly found a cure for (or combat) alzheimer’s disease.   An Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA, Tobinik has successfully been using a drug intended for rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis to treat alzheimer’s. His findings show “rapid cognitive improvement.”  The drug, manufactured by Amgen, is called ENBREL.  Check out the YouTube video below or the NRIMED channel.

Vegetalismo is an indigenous shamanic practice that uses master plant medicine from the Peruvian Amazon; Vegetalismo and the accompanying sacred ceremony has been used by Amazonian shamans for thousands of years.

It’s used for a wide range of problems; from depression and advanced-stage cancer to spiritual crisis. A treatment plan combining the use of medicinal plants and sometimes ayahuasca, plus a strict diet restriction is put in place. Vegetalismo offers a unique opportunity of focusing the treatment with a holistic approach to the problem and treating the disease from its SOURCE rather than its symptoms.

The ceremony usually takes place over 5 hours after sunset in a maloka (sacred room) and includes chanting, singing, drumming, sage smudging, and the ceremonial use of tobacco.

During the ceremony, the shaman sings icaros or medicine songs. Each icaro is used to contact a different spirit, for use in healing. In addition, the shaman employs multiple healing practices (i.e. Reiki) to help assist with a participant’s healing.

At the beginning of each ceremony, participants ingest plant medicine, and over the course of the night may experience purging, consciousness expansion, healing, purification, detoxification, and profound realizations.

Essentially focused in the indigenous Shipibo tradition, Espiritu de Anaconda is a healing center located in the Peruvian Amazon, close to the town of Iquitos, where a land base of more than 50 acres allows for a good representation of all aspects of vegetalismo. The healing center, established by Guillermo Arévalo, offers traditional cures, a training area, and an alumni organization in charge of diffusing the knowledge of vegetalismo.

Sota Bio Tuner from Sota Instruments is a  product out of Canada that deliverers small electro-magnetic pulses that you apply for 20 minute increments.  The clips go on your ears and the device sends tiny electric pulses to your brain to help with anxiety, depression, and insomnia.  It features a built-in timer with six pulse settings.  it costs around $135.

Jo Bainbridge Cobbett’s FUMBLING TOWARD ECSTASY.

Jo created the “barefoot exercise” in 1995 as a way to connect to the body by allowing movements to come spontaneously as a vehicle to strengthened  relationship with self. They offer Sunday classes in Los Angeles at the Masonic Lodge in Culver City.  The music pumps and the energy is great.

Pacific Graduate Institute is nestled in the hills overlooking Santa Barbara, CA.  The programs are  Jungian based and focus on a depth psychology approach.

The NAC – Native American Church is a Peyote religion. In this LA Yoga Magazine story on NAC Roadman Kenny Little Fish articulates the indigenous American church’s philosophy and practices. He also says, “I need the government to step up and say we apologize for the oppression and the continued oppression that we’re putting on you…”

• What: NAC is a religious denomination that practices Peyotism or the Peyote religion.  NAC originated in Oklahoma, and is the most widespread indigenous religion among Native Americans.  Peyotism involves the use of the entheogen peyote, a spineless cactus. Peyote was used in the territory of modern Mexico in pre-Columbian times both as a way to commune with the spirit world and also as a medicine. From the mid-15th century, the use of peyote spread to the Great Plains area of the United States primarily through the efforts of the Apache people. Peyotism is now practiced in more than 50 Indian tribes and has approximately 250,000 adherents.
• Treatment: Correlated with its use as a religious sacrament and its presumed value as a medicine, Peyote renders all other medicines superfluous. The roadman (or shaman) may be asked to treat a patient. This procedure varies in form. The curing ritual is almost always simple, consisting of praying and frequent use of the sign of the cross.  Native Americans consider peyote sacred, a divine “messenger” that enables the individual to communicate with God without the medium of a priest.  For many peyotists, it is an earthly representative of God.

Ceremony: The ceremony is led by a roadman, takes place after dark and continues through sunrise.  The ceremony takes place in a tepee (which represents a mother’s womb) where an alter is constructed in the shape of a crescent moon. The shape represents the “road of life.”  The ceremony begins with smoking tobacco, after which, peyote or “medicine,” is passed around. Participants sing prayers to the accompaniment of a gourd rattle and a small water drum. Water is brought in twice during the night. Vomiting signals cleansing and purification. Members have visions and profound insights.

The Roadman: Native American ceremonialist who “carries the alter” from a specific linage or teaching and set of rules.  The roadman is in charge of leading the songs, initiating the prayers, and holding the space.  He does delegate some responsibility such as fire keeper and doorkeeper.

Participants: At the beginning of each ceremony, participants ingest peyote or “medicine,” and over the course of the night may experience purging, consciousness expansion, healing, purification, detoxification, and profound realizations.

Origin: Quanah Parker is credited as the founder of the Native American Church Movement, which started in the 1890s, and was formally incorporated in 1918. Parker adopted the peyote religion after reportedly seeing a vision of Jesus Christ while suffering from a near fatal wound following a battle with U.S. Federal Troops. Peyote is reported to contain hordenine and tyramine, phenylethylamine alkaloids that act as potent natural antibiotics when taken in a combined form. Parker was given peyote by the Carrizo Coahuiltecan Indians in South Texas. The Carrizo Coahuiltecan Indians healed him and showed him the proper way to run peyote ceremonies.

In return, Parker taught that the Sacred Peyote Medicine was the Sacrament given to all peoples by the Creator, and was to be used with water when taking communion in some Native American Church medicine ceremonies.  Parker created the “half-moon” style of the peyote ceremony. The “cross fire ceremony” (originally called the “Blue Moon” ceremony) later evolved in Oklahoma (initially among the Kiowa) and is due to influences introduced by John Moon-Head Wilson, a Caddo Indian who traveled extensively with Parker during the early days of the Native American Church movement. The Native American Church was the first truly “American” religion based on Christianity outside of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Colin Tipping’s RADICAL FORGIVENESS speaks to the difference between traditional forgiveness (where I bestow upon you the power to “forgive” me for doing something “wrong”) and radical forgiveness (a paradigm shift that asks people to be open to the idea that there is spiritual meaning in what happens between people in relationships).  The book presents an easy way to let go of the victim stance and see that poverty is in the eye of the beholder.

The strategies of Radical Empowerment, Radical Manifestation, Radical Relationships, Radical Money and, of course, Radical Forgiveness all use the same technology with tools that access and activate your SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE. This enables you to bypass the stubborn and change-resistant subconscious mind and, as a consequence, get extremely fast results with minimal effort.

Background: All six strategies were originally born out of Colin Tipping’s desire in the early 1990’s to find a way to help people challenged with cancer. Having learned that one of the causative characteristics of people with cancer is a marked inability to forgive, he set out to find a form of forgiveness that would be suitable for them.

It had to be quick, simple and easy to do. It also needed to be free from the need to go digging up the buried past — something cancer folks had always avoided. 
It therefore had to use a part of the mind that was separate and distinct from their subconscious intellect — their Spiritual Intelligence. He found that to be the key to the whole thing.

The Five Stages and the Tools: What was unique about the method was that Tipping created special tools that helped people navigate the five stages of the Radical Forgiveness using their Spiritual Intelligence:

Just across the US/Mexico border in Tijuana is the William Hitt Center, an alternative therapy clinic that believes in a scientifically based and cutting-edge approach to the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of autoimmune diseases.  Apart from cancer, Dr. Hitt uses alternative medicine to treat everything from HIV and AIDS to allergies, vertigo, and shingles.  Healing methods employed include the use of ozone therapy, vitamin drips, and autohemotherapy.

While there is much controversy surrounding Dr. Hitt’s practices, there are quite a few testimonials to his alternative therapy successes particularly in regards to his use of autohemotherapy (treating disease with a patient’s own blood).  In this process, a patient’s blood is drawn.  After ozone is passed through it, the blood is re-administered to the patient through an IV.   Although this alternative therapy is controversial especially in the medical community, it is most definitely worth a look.  A helpful resource is a book by Ed McCabe (nicknamed “Mr. Oxygen”) called “Flood Your Body with Oxygen.”

In the area of substance abuse, Hitt is a pioneer.  His NTR (Neurotransmitter Restoration) procedure uses natural substances (for example amino acids) to treat the imbalance of chemicals in the brain caused by a prolonged addictive use of alcohol and other drugs.  During the NTR process, those neural receptors that have been overly stimulated through the use of addictive substances are calmed and returned to their original state. It is believed that this results in the total elimination of a person’s physical dependency on those addictive substances

Paramount is the center’s belief that in order to return a body to normal physiology, toxins must be removed and damage repaired so that a patient’s immune response can be changed.  They hold that this can be accomplished without the use of prescription drugs.

Most promising with the alternative cancer cure 714x is that it can be used in conjunction with conventional therapies and there are no known adverse side effects.  With alternative therapy, this is vital.  Many people who are considering holistic healing or alternative medicine tend to encounter a lot of resistance.  Being able to use this healing method together with mainstream therapies opens up the possibility that more people will try it.  That said, understandably the maker of 714x, Gaston Naessens claims that the product is more likely to be helpful with patients who have not received chemotherapy or radiotherapy and recommends that treatments be given as early as possible in the course of the disease.

714x – Somatoscope – Somatids

The good news is that 714x is a comparatively inexpensive alternative therapy treatment.  It was first developed by Gaston Naessens, a French-born scientist and researcher who for more than 30 years has worked out of his laboratory in Quebec, Canada.  Earlier in his career, Naessens developed the “somatoscope,” a unique microscope designed to examine blood in real time at higher magnification rates than normal microscopes.

By using the somatoscope, Naessens was able to review fresh blood from both healthy people and those with known diseases.  From his findings, Naessens found what he thought to be the presence of living organisms in the blood.  He called them “somatids” and claimed that by observing the presence of these somatids would allow him to diagnose and monitor disease.

Unfortunately, according to Naessens, somatids secrete toxic substances that prohibit optimal cell metabolism, including the metabolism of important immune cells.  These toxic substances set in motion a chain reaction whereby unhealthy cells rob the body of much needed nitrogen. As a result, disease can progress at a quicker rate.

The purpose of this alternative therapy is to interfere with the somatids’ cycle thereby reversing the metabolic disruption that causes disease when somatids are present.  As a result, 714x not only works to help the immune system recover but also to eradicate disease.  714x can be used as a preventative treatment or after someone has been diagnosed with cancer or some other degenerative disease.

Some things to note about 714x

• 714x has a camphor compound base, chemically combined with extra nitrogen as well as ammonium salts, sodium chloride and ethanol.  Camphor is a natural product coming from the wood of the Cinnamomum camphora – an evergreen most readily found in Asia.  Naessens chose camphor as a base because he believed that the substance has an affinity for cancer cells.
• Naessens added nitrogen to prevent cancer cells from taking the nitrogen found in healthy immune cells.  By protecting the immune cells, Naessens’ hope was that the immune cells would recover enough to make them available to fight disease.
• Naessens included ammonium salts because he believed that these salts would improve the circulation of the lymph system found in cancer patients. He also believed that the ammonium salts activated certain proteins that inhibit abnormal cell growth and can therefore enhance the immune system.
• 714x is administered through injection into the lymph nodes found in the groin.  Videos and manuals on Cerbe Distribution’s website give step-by-step instructions (order the videos, they are fascinating!).  In some instances, 714x can be administered nasally using a nebulizer.  This is recommended for individuals with oral cancer or lung cancer.
• Each treatment cycle is 21 days in length and consists of a morning injection.  Usually 3 cycles are recommended with a three-day rest period between each cycle.
• Vitamin B-12, vitamin E supplements, and alcohol should be avoided during treatments.

How to purchase 714x

Currently, 714x is available through Health Canada’s Emergency Drug Release Program on “compassionate grounds.”  Outside Canada, 714x is only available in Mexico and Western Europe.  It is not available in the United States (the FDA is currently investigating it).  More information on 714x including results, trials, and purchasing options can be found by visiting Cerbe Distribution’s website.
